I have been invited to a friends company xmas party.?

The function will be on a yacht cruising Sydney Harbour. I have absolutely no idea what type of outfit l should buy/wear. l am in my forties and being a single mum, finances are very limited. l need something that will flatter my size 16 bod. l would really appreciate some advice on this
Its an evening function, a sales company and my friend is in management.
