Yacht Style Clothing

is the preppy style still “in”?

I was wondering if the preppy style was still in. My girlfriend told me that it was, but then again she is preppy. Her parent are designers and like their daughter to be dating guys with style. So they invited me to their yacht and was wondering if I should wear preppy style clothing? AKA: Polo (collar up?), Khakis and a pair of loafers. Maybe a sweater over the shoulders?

The preppy style is style in but it has been updated since the the days of high waist capri shorts for men. If you want to see what a classic prep wears go to jcrew.com, ralphlauren.com, lacoste.com, if your are going on a boat, check out nautical for styles. You don’t necessarily have to buy stuff from these stores. Just look at how they wear their clothes and what goes together. I love my husband in madras shorts (plaid patchwork shorts) with a polo (not flipped up, uggghh) and sandals. Sometimes he wears a hat. Do go out and get a pair of sperry’s they are so comfortable once you break them in and get them wet. You will be on boat so there you go. Don’t try to hard each man looks good in different things. Oh and I know this horrible for men to do, but when shopping have the store assistant help you. If it makes you feel better find a girl first if they are working. If not suck it up and ask a man that is why they work there and they know what goes together. Hell, I worked at GAP for years, I helped men everyday! Hope this helps. Mander B.
